Independent Distilling Co. opened February of this year by distillers Michael Anderson and Tommy Williams. Produced locally in Decatur, GA this high quality, hand crafted small batch whiskey is distilled from locally grown corn on a small 100 gallon copper pot still. Named after the Hellbender Salamander that lives only in the purest water in mountain streams, Anderson and Williams’ have created a delicious, well-balanced spirit that reflects Georgia’s bountiful natural resources. This double distilled spirit starts with a soft nose of corn sweetness, honey and pear. With the first sip rich cereal notes and green apple flavors coat the mouth followed by a slight note of biscuits and hints of chocolate from the malted barley on the finish.
